Cindy Jarboe spent 20 years in public accounting including seven years as Audit Partner with Coopers & Lybrand (now PWC) for Fortune 500 clients in manufacturing, distribution, higher education, non-profit, and financial services industries. Serving as a consultant to private equity firms, she led due diligence efforts, evaluated business divisions for sale, closure, liquidation, and outsourcing, as well as led initial public offering and sale processes.

She has served as CFO, COO, and board member for numerous privately held corporations in healthcare, direct selling, retail, consumer products, non-profit foundations, and higher education.

Cindy has served over 30 organizations either as a consultant or board member. She is currently the Chair-Elect for the Society of International Business Fellows, an international membership organization for C-level executives. She is the immediate past Chair of the Supervisory Committee of the Virginia Credit Union, a $5 billion financial institution.

Active with her alma mater, The College of William & Mary, she has served on the boards of their Mason School of Business, their Society of 1918, as Treasurer of the William & Mary Foundation, and as President of the William & Mary Alumni Association. She is the 2023 recipient of their Alumni Medallion, the highest honor given to alumni.

She was appointed by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II as a commander of the Order of St John and currently chairs the US Priory Human Resources and Audit Committees and serves on their board, The Chapter.

Her extensive non-profit experience and identification of a need for a best practice guide that is easy to read, led her to write A Guide To Nonprofit Board Success: Answering the Call of Leadership (published by Praeger, an imprint of Bloomsbury) which set the standards for non-profit governance best practices, and is relevant for corporate board service.

She is also a frequent speaker on the topic of board service and an author of numerous articles on board leadership topics in nonprofit electronic and print newsletters.
