We’ve all had at least one: That client that caused one headache after another because their views on ethical business practices and ours didn’t mesh. How can we prevent this from happening again? When and how can we FIRE a client without creating more headaches?

Join our panel of CMCs during this interactive, virtual conversation as we discuss:

Meet the Panelists

Joyce Gioia, CSP, CMC, FIMC

Joyce Gioia, CSP, CMC, FIMC

With a background in marketing and direct marketing and an MBA from Fordham University, Gioia [joy-yah] founded her first consulting firm in 1984 and never looked back. Three years after meeting her late partner, Roger Herman, they merged their lives and their practices together in North Carolina, offering consulting and speaking services to assist small and mid-size companies, associations, and governmental agencies to engage and retain employees and customers.

Having founded her first business in 1961, Jack & Jill Parties for Children, Joyce has over sixty years’ experience in entrepreneurship, consulting, and speaking. Her sixth and first solo book, Experience Rules (Indie Books 2023) combines all of the wisdom and insights collected during her decades of work.

In 2019, Joyce served as Clinical Professor for Leadership and Innovation aboard Semester at Sea and in 2013, USA TODAY named her their First Road Warrior of the Year—and they never named another. She has spoken or consulted in 47 of the United States, in 31 countries, on 7 continents, and on the 7 Seas.

Joyce serves as Vice Chair of the Board for the Women’s Foundation of North Carolina (an organization that feeds thousands of children in need three meals a day) and Vice Chair of the Board for the Association of Professional Futurists.  

Joyce holds four certifications: the “Certified Management Consultant® (CMC®),” from the Institute of Management Consultants, and the FIMC (Fellow award, one of only 60 so awarded to management consultants in US), the “Certified Speaking Professional® (CSP®)” plus the Certified Virtual Presenter (CVP) designation both from the National Speakers Association.

Upon moving to North Carolina in 1996, Joyce revitalized the then defunct Carolinas Chapter of the Institute of Management Consultants USA (IMC USA) and served as its president between 1996 and 2002. Between 1998 and 2002, she served as Chair of the National Marketing & PR Committee, between 2021 and 2022 she also served as Chair of the Recognition and Awards Committee, and currently serves as a member of the National Marketing Committee.

Lynn M. Hoopingarner, CMC

Lynn is the founder and president of Profitable Solutions™ Institute, Inc., a full-service management-consulting firm, since 1992.  She and her staff specialize in working with large organizations to develop systems and practices to streamline complex financial, contractual and construction data.

Lynn speaks fluent Spanish, has lived and worked in Europe and South America, and holds a Master’s Degree in International Business and a B.A. in International Relations.  In her practice she has worked with companies ranging in size from start-ups to Fortune 100 in industries ranging from healthcare construction and motion picture production to fine jewelry production and data center construction.

She is a Planning Commissioner for the City of West Hollywood, serving for over five years in the quasi-judicial body to review and approve development projects, general and specific plans and other planning efforts throughout the city.

A CMC since 1997, Lynn has served on many committees for the IMC nationally and at her local So. Cal. Chapter, where she has served as president and in other roles.

Liz is President of Weber Business Services, LLC, a management consulting, training, and speaking firm headquartered near Harrisburg, PA.

Liz provides strategic and succession planning, executive coaching, and comprehensive leadership training programs to business owners, leaders, executive teams, and boards of directors.

Liz was named a Top Leadership Influencer by LeadersHum, a Top HR Influencer to Watch by HR Exchange Network, and a Top HR Influencer by BambooHR.

She is one of fewer than 100 people in the U.S. to hold both the Certified Speaking Professional (CSP) and Certified Management Consultant (CMC) designations.

Liz is an experienced national and international association board director. She has supervised business activities in 129 countries and has presented in over 20 countries. Liz is the author of 10 leadership books, and shares strategic leadership insights daily on her various social media channels.
